5 summer activity ideas for your stay at Estérel Resort

For a perfect summer vacation, all you need is to combine outdoor activities and relaxation! Here are some suggestions for summer activities to do during your next visit to Estérel Resort. Whether it’s for a family vacation or a romantic getaway, the Laurentian region is full of exciting activities to discover.

In the past few years, cycling has become increasingly popular. Whether you are a road biker, a mountain biker or a family looking to have fun on the bike paths, an expert or a novice, you will find what you are looking for around the Estérel Resort. There are several cycling circuits to choose from. Here are our favourites:
– The Raidillons trail: this is a 28.5 km long trail with a steep, difficult slope that goes around the Masson, Dupuis and North lakes. It passes through the municipalities of Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson and Estérel.
– The Mont Loup-Garou Recreation and Tourism Park in Sainte-Adèle: about 15 minutes from the resort by car, this park offers 452 km of trails for mountain biking and superb views of the surrounding mountains.
– The P’tit Train du Nord: originally a railway line, the P’tit Train du Nord is an easy, linear route, perfect for a nice family bike ride. Built between 1891 and 1909 and covering 234 km, it is an important part of the patrimony and development of the Laurentians.

Don’t forget to pause to catch your breath along the way and admire our magnificent forests, typical of the Laurentian region and home to many of Quebec’s diverse species of flora and fauna.

The small municipality of Estérel extends around lakes Masson, du Nord, Dupuis, Grenier and Castor and covers a magnificent territory of 16.20 km bordered by natural environment.
– Parc Estérel: situated within walking distance of the resort and newly developed for outdoor activities, Parc Estérel has several hiking trails of differing levels of difficulty for you to discover. There is the “Aventurier” for an easier hike, and the “Intrépide” for a higher level of difficulty. The 2.1 km Belvedere Trail loop is a beautiful family trail, mostly under forest cover and featuring some clearings and ponds. Climb up to discover the view from the Belvedere!
– The Sentier du Galais: found in Ste-Marguerite-Du-Lac-Masson, the Sentier du Galais is a walking trail you can start directly from the resort. This four-season multifunctional trail, located on Du Galais Street, offers several trails of different levels of difficulty with interpretation panels, most of them under forest covering.
– Parc de la Rivière Doncaster: located in Sainte-Adèle, this park boasts beautiful waterfalls you can admire while walking along the river. The routes are generally considered easy. Bring your fishing rod because you can fish for trout!

Are your little ones getting restless? There are many options for family activities during your summer vacation.
– Santa’s Village: in Val-David there is something for everyone! Slides, climbing walls, water activities, farm animals and Santa Clause-themed activities.
– Le Pays des Merveilles in St-Adèle: this is an amusement park with rides, entertainment and water activities surrounded by the natural environment. Perfect for two- to eight-year-olds.
– Les Sommets in Saint-Sauveur : Les Sommets offers a wide range of activities for the whole family, including miniature golf, F.U.N., water slides, the Viking and several other rides, all located only 20 minutes from Estérel Resort.

For local product enthusiasts, the Val-David summer market is sure to be a delight! You will be able to buy fresh artisanal products directly from the region’s producers. A must-see stop on the Quebec terroir route. Don’t forget your reusable bags!

Also located in Val-David, the Clef des Champs is a garden and a place of discovery and learning. Growers cultivate and harvest more than 150 organic, medicinal plants in this unique environment! Enjoy a guided tour with their qualified herbalists.
